Best places to shop in Cambridge

Cambridge is the perfect weekend getaway from London that is easily accessible from the city. Plenty of tourists who visit London also drop in to this famous University City, to admire its beautiful architecture and amazing natural beauty.

And there are plenty of places to stay in Cambridge! The city offers a wide variety of accommodation to suit travellers with all types of budgets.

Benet Street Area

The Benet street area is well known as the Arts Quarter and is home to many entertainment venues. The Benet Street area is famous for a variety of cafes and shops including jewellery, lingerie, fashion, bookstores, and ceramics.

The Grafton

The Grafton is a short stroll away from the centre of the city and houses 70 plus retailers. These include national favourites like BHS, Debenhams and Next. There also are family shopping venues like the Early Learning Centre and Mothercare. Once you are done with shopping you could head to any of the Vue cinemas in the area to watch a movie, or grab a bite at any of the restaurants or cafes in the area.

Bridge Street & Magdalene Street

These streets lead to the Cam River banks and are where you will find international restaurants, trendy bars and n eclectic mix of high street brands and independent shops selling a variety of items. All of these are located in the scenic quayside area. Magdalene Street is popular for the best boutiques in Cambridge, its jewellery venues and florists. While there a visit to the Bang & Olufsen store is recommended. Bridge Street again offers a great variety of items from clothing to jewellery, chocolates, and health food outlets etc.

Fitzroy Street & Burleigh Street

Fitzroy & Burleigh streets offer a wide variety of specialist shopping venues, including favourites like Argos, Primary, Cafe Nero and Starbucks. There are plenty of independent outlets for clothes and food as well to choose from. Both streets are a hive of activity with an amazing array of shopping centres that offer plenty of products and items to choose. There are a number of fine restaurants and bars as well to be found in the area.

Christ’s Lane

This is one of the newer additions to the city’s shopping venues. It is a fine blend of cool cafes and high street shops. A visit to Giraffe restaurant is not to be missed for the fine menu and the amazing views it offers. Shopping at Christ’s Lane is a great experience as it houses some of the top brands including Zara, Bank and H&M. If you are looking for trendy yet practical cookware Divermenti is the place to shop. For lingerie and undergarments Triumph is the place to shop with Two Seasons for the latest in casual wear. There also is a Starbucks coffee outlet and Lombok a furniture outlet.
