Places to store your luggage in London

London is one of the best shopping destinations in the world. It offers an incredible range of goods to choose from at its many world class shopping centres. Shopping in London caters to people with all types of budgets from shopping at the high end boutiques and couture houses on Bond and Oxford Street to budget shopping at any of the shopping districts in Paddington or Spitalfields.

Step out of the Shaftesbury Suites London Marble Arch and there are a number of places where you can indulge yourself and go on a shopping spree. Of course when you shop extensively there is excess luggage that you have to carry back. If you need to store any extra luggage or bags in London for a few hours some of the options are:

While there are no longer self-service lockers available at London train stations or tube stations, bags and suitcases could be stored at left luggage offices at some of the main train stations in London, including Victoria Coach Station. Of course it can be expensive to store luggage for a short period, so first enquire at the hotel you are staying at if they have any luggage storage facilities. If it is just for an hour or two some might charge a small fee or even may keep it for free. In the event that you have to store luggage for a few days, a week or longer then it is recommended to opt for a self-storage facility that would be more cost-effective.

Two of the many self-storage facilities in Central London are:

Victoria Coach Station left luggage office:

Just a short walk from Victoria train/tube station is the left luggage office at Victoria Coach Station. The left luggage office is located opposite Gate 6 within the coach station. It is out of the cheapest places to store any baggage for a short period of time. You do need to have a coach ticket to deposit your luggage. It costs £2.50 for an item of any weight for up to 02 hours. For between 02-24 hrs it is £4 for an item under 20 kg and £6 per item for anything heavier. The cost per extra day is £4-£6 subject to the weight of the item. It opens daily from 07:00 hrs to 22:45 hrs with the last deposit and collection time being 22:30 hrs.

Self-Storage Kings Cross:

If you have a lot of bags or suitcases that need to be stored, you could visit the self-storage office situated opposite Kings Cross Station. They offer a decent deal for short term storage of luggage. The self-storage facility at Kings Cross offers a 1.5 square metre locker that provides ample space to store up to 5-6 large bags or suitcases. However, they close much earlier than Victoria Coach Station with their timings being 7:30 – 18:00 hrs (Monday-Friday), Saturdays 08:30-17:00 hrs and on Sundays 10:00 -16:00 hrs.
