What Events are on in Springin London?

No matter the time of year, there are always interesting and fun events that are in London, the season of spring is no different!

London Marathon

Past attendees in the London Marathon include Olympians Mo Farah and Paula Radcliffe. The 26 mile marathon has tens of thousands of runners pounding the street.  Those who competein the marathon can run (walk or skip) for personal achievements or for a charity of their choice. Each year, thousands lend their support by cheering on the competitors from the sidelines. For those who missed the deadline to enter the marathon, get part of the action and lend your support!

St George’s Day

St George’s Day is on the 23rd of April but the celebrations will be held on the 25th. The day celebrates England’s patron saint. This will be a big event that will be held in Trafalgar Square. Suitable for all ages, the day will boast games, food stalls, music and live performances.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Nothing says spring more than the blossom of bright sweet smelling flowers. The annual flower show is over 100 years old and it showcasesthe beauty of nature with innovative and cutting edge garden designs.

London Boat Race

The London Boat Race is a popular event where up to 250,000 spectators come and watch the race between the competing teams Oxford University and Cambridge University. There is fierce rivalry between the teams which makes the boat race all the more exciting.

The Oxford and Cambridge Goat Race

This is a satire version of the London Boat Race. Proving as popular as the boat race, two goats called ‘Oxford’ and ‘Cambridge’ have to race against each other. This will be hosted at the Spitalfields City Farm but the goat race is not the only thing that happens on this fun filled day. Live music, refreshing cocktails and beers, food and market stalls are some of events that is available on the day.

Museums At Night
